    Fabulous

All of the staff were friendly and helpful, we were pleasantly surprised on a day when I was unwell and we stayed in our room they supplied a complimentary breakfast for my husband.

    Fabulous

Overall was great! No free Internet in the room, but in the lobby, which is good too! I wish sauna would be open longer, like 10-11 pm... not till 3-5 pm only...

Old looking carpet, feels like dirty.... Layout of the huge room could be smarter .....

Lovely large room, very clean. Elegant lobby, very helpful staff. In the heart of Old Town Toronto so it was easy to walk to all of the places - shopping and sites that we wanted to visit. I would stay here again.

Parking was $40/day - very high price and we didn't use it. Also - charging for internet in the room. We didn't use it. that is a ridiculous practice for a high end hotel.

We didn't get the room that we originally booked. Le Meridien King Edward did upgrade to the Executive suite. However, the room was too large, unwelcoming and lacked the coziness that one would expect from a luxury hotel. Absolutely no warmth or character was felt which is a complete opposite upon entering the lobby.

very big room (suites) for my stay. good location to Eaton mall.

i planned to stay there from Mar 11-14, 3 nights,. And if no show will charge me the first night. However, i was suffering the earthquake in tokyo when transit to Toronto. And i only left Narita airport on Mar 12 and which was too late for the first check-in. When i tried to call the hotel, they said they can't refund me anything, unless i talked with booking, com. I was so tired and depressed.....

    Good

Staff made great effort to make us comfortable when we complained about the first room we were given which was supposed to be for someone with a disability but was like a bowling alley. We decided that this room is in all likelihood used as a break out room and put together as a room for someone with disabilities on the fly. The bed was a double that was pulled down from the wall.

Did not like the rooms for disabled which I booked. First room was like a bowling alley the bed at one end of the bowling alley and the TV on the farthest wall away. Very uncomfortable. The second room was slightly more comfortable but the TV was perpendicular to the bed - also a pull down from the wall but at least kingsize as opposed to a double in the first room. The room had a huge light fixture over the bed which looked like one that would be over a conference table not a bed therefore we concluded that the disability rooms are used as breakout meeting rooms when not booked and are hastily converted. There were many dead flies in this huge light fixture which detracted from the feeling of cleanliness in the room. Also there was difficulty in accessing the accessible entrance to the hotel on Leader Lane because the lift button did not work on the lower level when coming into the hotel - hotel staff were very slow in responding - partner had to go to the front desk to seek help.

The staff were a delight, very friendly yet professional.

We had zero natural light in our suite.

    Fabulous

The ambience in the public areas was very nice. Location was great. All the staff were very professional and very pleasant. The double queen rooms that I booked were not available when I arrived, even though I had prepaid, and staff were accommodating with ensuring that this was resolved. The replacement room was not acceptable so they moved us and appeared to genuinely want us to be satisfied. The room was well stocked with beverages and snacks. Hair dryers and irons were available in the room.

I would have liked the old world ambience in the room to reflect their web site pictures more accurately. There were bath towels and hand towels in the bathroom but no towel appropriate for wrapping around wet hair and the towels were rough rather than plump and soft. I wasn't 100% sold on the experience so I would cautiously try this hotel again.

    Superb

The service was outstanding. Also, the history that goes along with hotel is not only interesting, it's a part of Toronto's heritage. I loved the atmosphere of the whole facility.

The plumbing in our particular room proved to be leaking from the ceiling above the tub. Pipes rattling caused a bit of a disturbance. The hotel is however over 100 years old and that was the only distraction we experienced.

    Fabulous

The hotel staff were fantastic, very professional. The front desk clerk upon arrival offered to upgrade us to a club suite. The room itself was very beautiful and comfortably decorated.

The bed was the most uncomfortable bed we have ever slept in at a hotel. We did not sleep at all, disappointed because this was one of the more expensive hotels we have stayed in.

    Old world ambience, downtown location.

Dated decor in rooms, lack of complimentary services... no free internet in a $300 a night hotel... please! $40 for parking, no coffee maker in room... basics you expect when we could camp at a Howard Johnson hotel for 1/3 the price. Royal York has this old tired lady beat by a mile and a half in the lux-o price range.
